One major perk about the new "9-5" job? I can do stuff! And now, without further ado, a list of "Things I've started to do while on an actual, regular schedule that doesn't involve hours of student emails, driving, paper grading, class prep or passing out from sheer exhaustion":
- Get to the gym. I am actually training for a half marathon!
- Clean my house. No joke. Knowing when I'll be able to schedule in cleaning has been eye opening (and dirt removing)
- Making (awesome) regular meals. No more need to eat like I'm on the Oregon Trail in my car.
- Read. I have time to read. For fun. Actual fun.
- Hang out with friends. The bulk of my friends are corporate types who weren't up for the 10 pm post-class dinner. Now I see these people. All the time!
- Sleep. Having basically the same hours each day means a way more normal sleep schedule. I feel so much more with it it's insane!
- Hobbies. Movies, shopping, writing, cooking... you name it! Now I actually have time for them!
- Personal Finances. I have the time to actually budget and plan. Amazing.
- Blog. I have time to blog. Period.
- Write lists that have 10 things in them. Aren't they all supposed to?
Next up? Top 10 things I do with my newfound "wealth." Stay tuned.
